Testimonials

“The AFRL SBIR TAP program is a win-win for all stakeholders. The program focuses the investigator on crystallizing a value proposition early in development, and validating it with frequent customer interactions. It also helps the USAF elevate the profiles of the technologies they incubate, and transition those with the best possible benefits to the Warfighter.”

“I have enjoyed the SBIR TAP training. It was very useful in terms of networking with other entrepreneurs and also for learning the marketing tools and skills. I have personally implemented some of the tools in my recent SBIR proposals. We got a great feedback from the reviewers that helped to win new Phase II and Phase III SBIRs. The training is certainly useful, especially for the beginners, and I strongly recommend it to be continued.”

“I had a great experience working with Jordan and Scott and the TECDayton team for the duration of the TAP class, as well as the Commercialization Catalyst event in December. This class really helped us understand the venture capital process as it relates to the SBIR program, and other small business initiatives within the DoD in much better light. Jordan and Scott were very knowledgeable, approachable, and even stayed late after several classes with me to continue working through the questions that I had. During the class we worked through the Wendy Kennedy Curriculum, which gave us some tangible resources that we could draw on long after the TAP class had finished, and has proven really helpful. While the resources and lectures were excellent, the community and collaboration with the other TAP members proved to be the most valuable aspect for me. Again Scott and Jordan did an excellent job facilitating a very real community that formed in a short amount of time. All in all, I would highly recommend TAP, or the services of TECDayton to any small business who is looking for some mentorship, or just have questions about commercialization.”

“I cannot say enough about how helpful the Small Business Innovative Research Technology Acceleration Pilot program (SBIR TAP), sponsored by the Air Force Research Laboratory Small Business Office (AFRL/SB), was to my understanding of formulating a commercialization plan. The SBIR TAP program involved 6 weeks of in class learning (once per week), led by Mr. Scott Koorndyk and Jordan Roe of The Entrepreneurs Center, Inc. Both Scott and Jordan were incredibly patient, knowledgeable and helpful in communicating business/marketing concepts to the class. In turn, they facilitated in class discussions that were very illuminating and helpful in solidifying the concepts we learned. Scott provided very thoughtful and creative ideas and insight into the strategies required to commercialize our technology, by teaching us a number of novel tools and commercialization models – all of which we were able to immediately implement in developing a thorough commercialization plan. More specifically, the SBIR TAP program helped us develop a clear understanding of the potential market space, an assessment of potential customers and technology applications as well as compile a survey of the competitive landscape.”
